You may not know his name. But Brian Freeman is one of the more impressive Australians you’re ever likely to meet.
An ex-Infantry and Special Forces Soldier/Officer in the Australian Army, Brian served in East Timor alongside our now Governor General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, in 1999. Since retiring from the army he’s continued to serve others as an inspirational adventure guide and CEO for Walking Wounded, a registered charity set up to help returned Australian soldiers. He does amazing work, and we’re very proud to say he’s supported all the way by Insurance Advisernet.
Quite literally, there is no mountain too high, no expanse too wide, no challenge too great for Brian. He’s accomplished so many epic challenges already, and appears to have no intention of slowing any time soon. He’s lead adventures to all parts of the globe, scaled peaks on many continents, walked across the Simpson Desert twice and kayaked both the Torres and Bass Straits.
Right now Brian’s latest challenge has him in Nepal, where he’s currently climbing Mount Everest. When he reaches the summit he even intends to unfurl an Insurance Advisernet flag – more than 9,000m above sea level. Stay tuned for the story. And the photos, of course!
